Stitched Memory
Christmas 2026

Under the tree this year,
the shirt Grandpa wore for thirty years.

by Katie

A handcrafted keepsake bear or pup, stitched from the clothes of the people who matter — for the grandparent who has everything, the parent who saves every outfit, the child who just lost their first dog.

Christmas is December 25, 2026 — plenty of time if you start by October 26, 2026. Later orders may still make it; we just can't promise.
Why a Christmas keepsake

Twenty years from now, it is still on the shelf.

Christmas is loud with gifts that do not survive the new year. A Stitched Memory keepsake is the opposite — a quiet handmade object built from a specific person's clothes, meant to live on a shelf or a bed for decades. The kind of gift grandchildren fight over who gets to keep.

What to send

The clothes that belong under the tree

One garment is enough for a single keepsake. Sending two or more pieces Katie can combine is a small +$20 upgrade — because piecing the story together by hand takes noticeably longer at the machine.

The shirt they actually wore

Not the one saved for photos — the one that lived in the laundry basket. Cotton shirts, flannel, soft knits. The fabric with wear-marks is usually the one that carries the most of them.

A favorite hoodie or sweatshirt

Soft cotton and cotton blends work wonderfully. Pockets, drawstrings, screen-printed logos — most of it usually survives the transformation.

Something from a specific season

A team tee, a concert shirt, a uniform top — anything that marks a year or a chapter. Piecing a specific season into the keepsake makes it a bookmark you can hold.

A baby or childhood piece

A onesie, a favorite toddler dress, the blanket they wouldn't let go of. Small keepsakes often want small fabric memories inside.

A note on fabric: Cotton, wool, flannel, and cotton blends work beautifully. Slick modern athletic polyester (most pro-style dri-fit jerseys) doesn't piece cleanly. If you're unsure, send Katie a photo first — she's happy to tell you what will work.

The finished keepsake arrives with a sewn-in NFC tag that opens a private gallery — the Christmas-morning photos, the annual holiday videos, every voicemail from Grandma all in one place.

Christmas questions

The ones families ask most

When do I need to order for Christmas delivery?
By late October to be safe — that is about sixty days out. Mid-November is still possible but not guaranteed. December orders will almost certainly arrive in January. We are honest about this up front because a late Christmas keepsake is worse than one that arrives early and gets wrapped.
Can I gift one without showing up with it on Christmas Day?
Yes — we have a gift-note option at checkout. The most-gifted scenario is an IOU-style note under the tree (a photo of the keepsake-in-progress, or a description) so the recipient knows it is coming but does not see the finished piece until weeks later. A lot of families say the two-stage reveal is actually better than one.
Which is better for a Christmas gift — a bear or a pup?
Whichever fits the person. A Signature Bear reads as a classic keepsake — good for grandparents, for commemorating a passing, for a child who will hold it for years. A Cuddle Bear is shaped for the kid who will sleep with it. A Loyal Pup is for the family that just lost a dog, or wants one in the shape of the one they still have. If you cannot decide, email — we will ask a few questions and point you.
What kinds of clothing work best?
Cotton shirts, flannel, soft knits, baby clothes, team tees, cotton-blend hoodies. Slick modern athletic polyester (most dri-fit jerseys) does not piece cleanly. If you are unsure about something, send Katie a photo first — she is happy to tell you what will work and what will not.
How long does it take?
Four to six weeks from the day your clothing arrives at the studio, plus about a week of shipping on each end. For time-sensitive gifts we recommend starting at least sixty days before the date — earlier is always better than a rush.
What if I want a keepsake after the date has passed?
Every bit as meaningful — often more so, once the moment has settled. A lot of families commission keepsakes weeks or months after the holiday, the service, or the milestone. The story does not have a deadline.
