What is a Stitched Memory keepsake?
A keepsake bear, pup, or memory blanket sewn by hand from clothing that holds meaning — garments from someone you love, outfits a child has outgrown, a flannel passed down through generations. Each one is hand-cut and hand-sewn one at a time, preserving the collars, cuffs, pockets, and prints that made the original garment unmistakably theirs.
Whose clothing works best?
Almost anything soft enough to sew. Cotton shirts, flannel pajamas, wool sweaters, baby onesies, silk scarves, Carhartt jackets, wedding dresses, military uniforms. If a garment holds meaning, Katie can almost always find a way to work it in.
How much clothing do I need to send?
One adult-sized shirt is typically enough for one bear or pup. If you'd like to combine several garments — a shirt from Dad, a flannel from Grandpa, a ribbon from a wedding dress — there's a small upcharge for the extra hand-work, because piecing multiple fabrics together takes significantly more time at the machine.
How long does it take?
Each keepsake is handmade one at a time by Katie in Georgia. Turnaround is typically 2–4 weeks from the day your clothing arrives at her studio. You'll get updates at every stage — fabric received, in progress, finishing touches, and shipped.
What makes each keepsake one of a kind?
No two garments are alike, so no two keepsakes are either. Katie hand-cuts and hand-sews every piece herself, choosing exactly where each meaningful detail — a chest pocket, a flannel plaid, an embroidered name — lands on the finished bear or pup. Nothing is mass-produced; every keepsake is built by hand from start to finish.
Will my finished keepsake look like the original clothing?
That's the whole point. Katie works the most recognizable parts of the garment into the finished piece — the buttons, the collar, a favorite print — so when you hold it, it feels like the person or pet it was made for. It's an heirloom built to keep and pass down.
